One Saturday afternoon in 1995, I was home all alone listening to a Patterson Family tape. The more I listened, the more I knew I didn’t have what they were singing about. My heart grew heavier and heavier and I had a lump in my throat. I knew I needed to pray, so I knelt at my dining room chair and called out for God to save me. Once I got to the point that nothing else in the world mattered, it only took a second. I felt a peaceful, tingling feeling that ran all over me, but right away, Satan told me that that wasn’t salvation. I wasn’t completely convinced that I was truly saved until God led me to join Southside Missionary Baptist Church in 1996. I joined the church that day and was baptized. God has been blessing my family and me everyday since.
